Fileds of Gold

Fields of gold is more than just a Sting song. The central coast hills stretching from Tehachapi to Mojave come alive in the spring with the annual California Poppy bloom. Antelope Valley is where the most ridiculous poppy blooms occur. This was my first time seeing this phenomenon for myself and it took my breath away. Fields of gold are another reason why I love California.

Carlsbad Flower Fields

Driving north on I-5 you can't miss the ranunculus flower fields in Carlsbad. In the spring the field blooms in a kaleidoscope of colors. I have driven by this local attraction countless times and have never stopped until today.
